About Mrs. Kaycee Leanger:

I grew up in a Christian home and accepted Christ as my Savior at an early age in life. I had the privilege of experiencing multiple forms of schooling when I was growing up. I started my education in the public school system, was homeschooled for a few years and then moved to Christian schooling when I was in Jr. high. My family moved to Minnesota when I was in high school and I attended Fourth Baptist Christian School and church for the remainder of my high school years.

After high school, I attended Maranatha Baptist Bible College for a year and a half while also working in childcare. I reaffirmed my faith during my college years and ended up transferring to North Central University in Minneapolis. I married my husband, David, in 2008 and graduated in 2009 with a degree in elementary education and a minor in Bible.

After graduating, I worked as an after school care teacher in the Osseo district for two years. I felt God leading me in another direction and opened Little Footprints Daycare in my home. Little Footprints allowed me to continue to provide childcare without sacrificing the ability to raise my children at home.

David and I have three children; Allison, Ezekiel and Isaac. All three of my children attend FBCS. I am thankful that God has allowed me to transition from a daycare provider to a Christian school teacher. It has always been my dream to be a teacher at a Christian school and I am excited to see how God will use me to impact the lives of my students.

About Mrs. Jeanine Cheek:

I grew up in an environment that had “a form of godliness but denied its power.”  I attended church and went to a Christian school for 12 grades. When I was 13, my 21 year old brother, was tragically killed. I saw that dying wasn’t just for old folks, so I wanted to be a nice, religious girl.

At 17, I went on a summer missions trip and was required to memorize Romans 3:10-12 and Ephesians 2:8-9.
The Holy Spirit used these verses to show me I was a sinner in need of a Savior. I went back to my room, confessed my sin, and asked Jesus to save me. My heart was flooded with JOY. From that point on, I knew my life was not my own and that I was to glorify Christ with my entire being.

I met my husband, John, at a student conference in China in 1984, graduated from college with a Christian Ed./Communications degree in spring of ’85, and married 3 months later. I have 6 fabulous children (ages 33, 31, 28, 26, 24, and 15) and have 5 adorable grandkids. Jace, a sophomore at FBCS, is my youngest. By God’s enabling, my husband has pastored a church in Blaine for over 20 years. The Lord has hugely blessed me in being John’s wife and mothering our children. For this season of life, I am delighted to be at FBCS as a 1st grade teacher.
